Table toppers Man City clash with arch rivals Manchester Utd at the etihad stadium

The champions Manchester City reinstated their supremacy at the top of the Premier League on Monday with a stellar 1-0 win away to Tottenham at Wembley Stadium. Riyad Mahrez grabbed the winner.

Tottenham and Manchester City face off in a Premier League blockbuster this evening as Pep Guardiola’s champions travel to Wembley to take on Mauricio Pochettino’s title hopefuls.

City are top of the table but only by virtue of goal difference with Liverpool hot on their tails, while Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all sit just two points behind the 2017-18 title winners.

Spurs may be staring at a potential early exit from the Champions League, but their domestic form has been encouraging despite failing to sign a single player in the summer transfer window.

Monday night’s contest will not decide the destination of the title, though Pochettino has repeatedly called on his players to prove their credentials in big games like these as they bid to win their first trophy under the Argentine coach.

 

 

Barcelona 5 Real Madrid 1

In the abscence of the dynamic lionel messi  Luis Suarez stepped up  to score a hat-trick in a humiliating El Clasico for Real Madrid and their beleaguered head coach Julen Lopetegui.

The first half was dominated by Barcelona  building a two-goal lead by the halftime through Philippe Coutinho and a Suarez penalty awarded by a Video Assistant Referee review.

At the start of the second half madrid pressed for a goal and were rewarded by Marcelo’s goal this  briefly raised hopes of a comeback before a Suarez double and Arturo Vidal header sealed the game as the visitors fell apart.

CHELSEA 1-1 LIVERPOOL

Both sides  Chelsea and Liverpool kept their unbeaten streak in tact alongside champions after drawing 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Dynamic Eden Hazard’s second goal against Liverpool inside 70 hours put the hosts in front in the 25th minute.daniel sturridgecame of the bench to score a late equaliser for the reds .

 

MANCHESTER CITY 2 BRIGHTON 0

The champions dominated hapless brighton to leapfrog liverpool at the top of the league.sergio Aguero opened the scoring for City and a late Raheem sterling goal finished the rout.

ARSENAL 2-0 WATFORD

Unai Emery’s gunners  kept their winning run in tact thanks to two late goals, which ultimately lifts them above Watford and back into the Premier League’s top five.

 Craig Cathcart’s 81st-minute own goal and Mesut Ozil’s strike secured a comfortable 2-0 win.

 

Tottenham striker Harry Kane warmed up for the clash with barcelona in the champions league witha brace against Huddersfield. kanes opener came courtesy of a briliant pass from brazilain lucas moura. he added a double converting from the penalty spot to give spurs a 2-0 win.
